What to Expect
This trip is a storybook of Egypt’s most iconic landmarks, from the Valley of the Kings to the Colossi of Memnon.
The first part of the tour will on the list is Karnak, the world’s second-biggest complex of ancient religious temples. Tilt your head back to see the crumbling statues and hieroglyph-emblazoned obelisks, and weave a path through the mighty carved columns of the great hypostyle hall.
Next, after you’ve crossed the River Nile to Luxor’s West Bank, you’ll reach the Valley of the Kings. For nearly 500 years, ancient Egyptian pharaohs had their tombs built here – there are 63 in total, including the famous resting place of Tutankhamun. You’ll stop off at Hatshepsut Temple before you reach the Colossi of Memnon. These two 60-foot stone statues have stood for more than 3,000 years.
